Wednesday in Manteo
Today we had a full day in Manteo. The boys got some free time this morning to explore Manteo. We left the dock at noon and got fuel before we dropped anchor in the sound next to Jockey's Ridge. On the way there we sailed by one of our sister ships, the Downeast Rover. The dunes at Jockey's Ridge are the largest dunes on the East coast. We swam to shore and hiked over the dunes and down to the beach. We swam and played in the exceptionally clear surf. There are public grills next to the dunes where we cooked a dinner of bratwurst and burgers. The crew played on the dunes before swimming back to the boat. We are back at the Manteo town dock for the night. Tomorrows destination will be Elizabeth City.
